After their winning return from Barbados, the Indian cricket team met Prime Minister Narendra Modi at his New Delhi residence for breakfast, followed by plans for an open-top bus parade in Mumbai.
The Indian cricket team, led by captain Rohit Sharma, visited Prime Minister Narendra Modi at his residence on Thursday morning in New Delhi’s Lok Kalyan Marg. During the hour-long breakfast meeting, PM Modi congratulated the team for their T20 World Cup victory in Barbados. They arrived at No. 7, Lok Kalyan Marg around 11 am IST.
A video shared by Firstpost Sports showed PM Modi and the players sharing light moments, with coach Rahul Dravid also addressing the group. The team was decked out in customized jerseys labeled ‘Champions’. Jasprit Bumrah, Suryakumar Yadav, and Hardik Pandya also spoke during the meeting, attended by BCCI officials Jay Shah and president Roger Binny.

After meeting PM Narendra Modi, the Indian cricket team headed back to the airport, preparing for their next stop in Mumbai where an open-top bus parade awaits.
Earlier, the team, along with support staff and around 20 members of the media, arrived at the Indira Gandhi International Airport in a special charter plane organized by the BCCI. Secretary Jay Shah accompanied them on the Air India flight, specially arranged due to Hurricane Beryl delaying their return from Barbados.
Thousands of fans braved early morning rain to welcome them, lining up outside Terminal 3 to catch glimpses of their cricketing heroes. Rohit Sharma, holding the T20 World Cup trophy, delighted fans with a celebratory pose. Virat Kohli reciprocated the support, waving to fans, and later posed for photos at their New Delhi hotel. Rohit also led impromptu celebrations dancing with dhol beats, joined by Suryakumar Yadav and Rishabh Pant showcasing their dance moves.

India’s cricket team will celebrate their win with a day-long extravaganza in Mumbai today, July 4. The team will parade through Marine Drive on an open-top bus at 5 PM IST, covering a 1km stretch. Fans are invited to join in, as urged by the captain himself on social media. Later, at Wankhede Stadium, BCCI secretary Jay Shah will present the team with the ICC T20 World Cup trophy and a prize of Rs 125 crore. This win marks India’s first ICC trophy in 11 years, achieved through an unbeaten run in the tournament.
