Naveen-ul-Haq has clarified that his feud with Virat Kohli during IPL 2023 is over, responding to Amit Mishra’s claim, and stated that the incident was just a heated moment between players.
Amit Mishra recently reignited discussion about the on-field spat between Virat Kohli and Naveen-ul-Haq during IPL 2023. The incident, which took place during a match between Lucknow Super Giants and Royal Challengers Bengaluru, led to a heated confrontation between Kohli, Naveen and Gautam Gambhir.
Mishra claimed in a podcast that Naveen would never respect Kohli again due to the altercation. However, Naveen, now playing for Texas Super Kings in Major League Cricket, stated that both he and Kohli have moved past the incident, describing it as a heated moment between two players representing their respective teams.
“For social media, it all seemed to be over between them. But do you think Naveen will respect Kohli ever again? What about the youngsters who saw the incident where a big star was abusing others,” Mishra had questioned.
“I don’t have the count of it but many times now I have been asked about and have made it clear. It was in the the heat of the moment. He was representing his franchise and I was representing mine. It’s what I do. If it’s for my country or my franchise, I won’t back down,” Naveen responded in a video shared by Texas Super Kings.

“At the end of the day, we are all friends. Some of us are colleagues and we just brush it out. It’s nothing that personal which would continue outside the field. But yes, social media keeps it going on till it gets something out of it. In the ODI World Cup, it finished once and for all,” he added.

In the tournament, Naveen still plays for the Lucknow Super Giants. He and Virat Kohli last encountered each other during the T20 World Cup in the West Indies last month where they shared a hug and buried the hatchet.
