New Zealand Cricket announced a three-match Test series against England for late 2024, featuring matches in Christchurch, Wellington, and Hamilton.

New Zealand Cricket (NZC) has announced the schedule for their upcoming three-match Test series against England, slated for late 2024. The highly anticipated matches, part of the World Test Championship, will be held in Christchurch, Wellington, and Hamilton.

Hagley Oval in Christchurch will host the first Test starting November 28th, followed by the Basin Reserve in Wellington on December 6th, and finally, Seddon Park in Hamilton on December 14th. The series is expected to draw large crowds, including a significant contingent of travelling England supporters.

Here is the full schedule for the New Zealand vs. England Test Series:

1. November 28th–December 2nd: Venue: Hagley Oval, Christchurch

2. December 6th–December 10th: Venue: Cello Basin Reserve, Wellington

3. December 14th–December 18th: Venue: Seddon Park, Hamilton

This announcement comes after a successful home summer for New Zealand cricket, with sell-out crowds witnessing the thrilling Test series against Australia.

“In the past, there’s often been a lot of talk in New Zealand about the popularity of Test cricket, without that translating into ticket sales or viewership numbers. The difference over the past summer, and in terms of the upcoming Tests against England, is that the interest is being converted to bums on seats and is driving record viewership numbers. We’re looking forward to that continuing over the upcoming summer and to welcoming the England team and their fans to the Tests, and of course all the Kiwi-based supporters as well,” said NZC chief executive Scott Weenink, as quoted by New Zealand Cricket.

Notably, the three-match series is New Zealand’s only home Test fixture for the 2024–25 season. Prior to that, they embarked on a busy overseas tour, including a one-off Test against Afghanistan, followed by a series in Sri Lanka and India.

The remainder of New Zealand’s 2024–25 international home schedule, featuring tours by the Sri Lanka and Pakistan men’s teams and the Australia and Sri Lanka women’s teams, will be confirmed later this year.
