New Zealand is set to visit Pakistan in April for a five-match T20I series ahead of the T20 World Cup.

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) recently announced that the New Zealand men’s cricket team will begin a five-match T20I tour of Pakistan beginning on April 14. This series will serve as crucial preparation for both teams leading up to the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup scheduled for June in the USA and the West Indies.

“In a testament to the unwavering camaraderie between the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) and New Zealand Cricket (NZC), we are delighted to present the schedule for the New Zealand men’s team tour to Pakistan in 2024. This tour symbolises the deep-rooted ties and mutual respect that define the relationship between our two cricketing nations. Our avid cricket fans and the people of Pakistan will welcome the New Zealand team again, and we hope to have yet another competitive series, which is a key part of our buildup to this year’s ICC T20 World Cup,” said Usman Wahla, Director, International Cricket, PCB.

The New Zealand team will arrive in Islamabad, Pakistan’s capital city, on April 14. The first three T20Is will be played at the Pindi Cricket Stadium in Rawalpindi on April 18, 20, and 21. Following these matches, both teams will travel to Lahore, where the remaining two T20Is will be held on April 25 and 27 at the Gaddafi Stadium.

This upcoming visit marks New Zealand’s third tour of Pakistan in the past 17 months. Their previous tour, from December 2022 to January 2023, saw them participate in a two-test and three-ODI series. While the Test series ended in a draw, New Zealand emerged victorious in the ODIs, clinching the series 2-1.

As both the teams gear up, Pakistan will face the United States on June 6, while New Zealand will start their campaign by facing off against Afghanistan on June 8.
