Fast-bowling allrounder Nitish Kumar Reddy has been ruled out of the first three T20Is against Australia after developing neck spasms that affected his recovery. The 22-year-old was already sidelined with a left quadriceps injury sustained during the second ODI in Adelaide on October 23.
Reddy had missed the third ODI in Sydney, where India reduced the series to 2-1 with a nine-wicket win. The BCCI confirmed that its medical team is closely monitoring his condition and progress.

“Nitish Kumar Reddy has been ruled out for the first three T20Is. The all-rounder who was recovering from his left quadriceps injury sustained during the second ODI in Adelaide, complained of neck spasms, which has impacted his recovery and mobility. The BCCI Medical Team is monitoring his progress,” BCCI wrote in a statement on X.

In the match, Australia opted to bowl first after winning the toss against India. Skipper Mitchell Marsh backed his decision on the belief that the surface would remain true early on. India captain Suryakumar Yadav said his side was also keen to bat first, expecting the pitch to slow down later in the game.
At the time of writing, India reached 43 for 1, with Shubman Gill and Suryakumar Yadav at the crease.
