Pat Cummins, the skipper of Sunrisers Hyderabad in the IPL, recently visited a school in Hyderabad, where he spent a fun-filled day playing cricket with the students. A fan-made video of Cummins swinging the bat on the school playground quickly went viral on social media, showcasing his interaction with the children.
Last year, Cummins led the Australian cricket team to victory over Team India in the World Cup final held in Ahmedabad, which had initially disheartened Indian cricket fans. However, his calm demeanor and down-to-earth personality seem to be winning the hearts of Indian fans once again.
The footage, shared on social media platform X (formerly Twitter), drew an outpouring of admiration from fans. The comments section overflowed with heart emojis, praising Cummins for his humility and connecting with the young students during his visit.

Under Pat Cummins’ captaincy, SRH became the third team, after KKR and RR, to qualify for the playoffs with 15 points, thanks to the rainout against GT. This marks their first playoff qualification since IPL 2020, having finished at the bottom in 2021 and 2023, and 8th in 2022. Cummins’ team now eyes a top-two finish, which is within their reach.
In their last game, SRH needs a win against PBKS and hopes for RR, currently with 16 points, to lose to KKR. Meanwhile, the battle for the final playoff spot will be between CSK and RCB, facing off at M Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bengaluru on May 18.
