In the 8th over of the ongoing Lucknow Super Giants vs Gujarat Titans IPL 2024 match, Ravi Bishnoi dismissed Kane Williamson with a brilliant catch off his own bowling.
Bishnoi delivered a googly on the off-stump line, tempting Williamson to flick it through the on side. However, Williamson’s attempt resulted in a top edge that flew towards Bishnoi’s right side. Showing exceptional reflexes, Bishnoi leaped up and stretched his right hand to grab the ball, completing a stunning catch. The Kiwi skipper had to depart with just 1 run off 5 balls, leaving GT in a precarious position with a score of 56/2.
On the match front, in the following over bowled by Krunal Pandya, GT faced further setbacks as they lost the wickets of Sai Sudarshan, who had appeared well-set with 31 runs off 23 balls, and newcomer KR Bharat, who was dismissed for just 2 runs.
Earlier, Gujarat Titans maintained a tight grip on Lucknow Super Giants, limiting them to 163/5 despite LSG opting to bat first after winning the toss. Umesh Yadav struck early, dismissing Quinton de Kock, and further dented LSG’s progress by removing Devdutt Padikkal in the powerplay, ensuring they managed only 47 runs by then. Captain KL Rahul contributed 33 runs off 31 balls before falling, while Marcus Stoinis anchored the innings with a solid 58 off 43 deliveries. Nicholas Pooran’s unbeaten 32 off 22 and Ayush Badoni’s quickfire 20 off 11 added some late runs, but Gujarat’s disciplined bowling restricted LSG overall.
