Ravichandran Ashwin has entered the ILT20 auction just days after retiring from the IPL.
Ravichandran Ashwin has put his name forward for the International League T20 (ILT20) auction, scheduled for September 30 in Dubai. Ashwin confirmed his participation only days after stepping away from the Indian Premier League. The UAE-based tournament will be played from December 2, 2025, to January 4, 2026.
“I have sent my name for the ILT20 auction. Hopefully, I will have a buyer,” Ashwin told Cricbuzz.
Ashwin’s IPL journey ended earlier this week after 221 matches across five franchises, including Chennai Super Kings, Delhi Capitals, Punjab Kings, Rajasthan Royals, and Rising Pune Supergiants. He lifted the title twice with CSK in 2010 and 2011. With 187 wickets at an economy of 7.2, he stands as the fifth-highest wicket-taker in IPL history.

Bought for INR 9.75 crore at the mega auction, he managed just nine games and finished with an economy of 9.12.
Since its launch, the International League T20 has seen limited Indian participation, with only three cricketers; Robin Uthappa, Yusuf Pathan, and Ambati Rayudu, featuring so far. The UAE-based tournament, now preparing for its fourth edition, has become a hub for global stars despite India’s low representation.
The competition features six franchises: MI Emirates, Gulf Giants, Abu Dhabi Knight Riders, Sharjah Warriorz, Dubai Capitals, and Desert Vipers. Dubai Capitals will begin the 2025–26 season as the defending champions after lifting the trophy last year.
