Indian cricketer Ravindra Jadeja addressed his father’s accusations of a strained relationship, advising against believing “scripted interviews”.

In a recent turn of events, Ravindra Jadeja has addressed the allegations leveled against him and his wife, Rivaba Jadeja, by his father, Anirudh Singh Jadeja. In a Dainik Bhaskar interview, Anirudh Singh Jadeja claimed that his relationship with Ravindra soured after his marriage, attributing the discord to Rivaba. He also accused Rivaba of seizing their family’s assets.

Taking to social media, Ravindra Jadeja dismissed these claims, cautioning against trusting “scripted interviews.” He denounced the interview his father gave as false and asserted his rejection of its contents.

“Let’s ignore what’s said in scripted interviews. Everything said in the nonsense interview given to Divyabhaskar is meaningless and untrue. It is said on one side, which I reject. The attempts made to tarnish the image of my godmother are truly reprehensible and unbecoming. I also have a lot to say which is fine as long as I don’t say it publicly,” Jadeja wrote.

In the interview, Jadeja’s father had expressed deep regret over his son’s marriage and cricket career, lamenting the family’s plight.

“He (Jadeja) is my son, and it burns my heart. I wish I hadn’t gotten him married. It would have been better if he hadn’t become a cricketer. We would not have to go through all this in that case,” he said.

“Within three months of the marriage, she told me everything should be transferred to her name. She created a rift in our family. She didn’t want a family and desired an independent life. I could be wrong, and Naynaba (Ravindra’s sister) could be wrong, but you tell me, how can all 50 members of our family be wrong? There’s no relation with anyone in the family; there’s just hate,” Anirudh Singh Jadeja added.

Meanwhile, Jadeja’s hamstring injury sidelined him from India’s second Test against England in Visakhapatnam. His availability for the remaining three Tests in Rajkot, Ranchi, and Dharamsala is uncertain.
