Rishabh Pant and Litton Das had a heated exchange during Day 1 of the India vs Bangladesh 1st Test in Chennai after a controversial run.
On Day 1 of the first Test between India and Bangladesh in Chennai, Indian wicketkeeper-batter Rishabh Pant was involved in a heated exchange with Bangladesh’s Litton Das.
The incident occurred in the 15th over of India’s first innings, when Taskin Ahmed bowled to Yashasvi Jaiswal. Jaiswal defended the delivery towards gully, and Pant attempted to steal a quick single but was sent back by his partner. As the fielder threw the ball towards the non-striker’s end, it deflected off Pant’s pads and rolled towards mid-on.
Taking advantage of the deflection, Pant and Jaiswal managed to complete a run, adding to India’s total. However, Litton Das was visibly unhappy with the duo for taking a run after the ball had hit Pant’s pads. He confronted Pant about the situation, but Pant responded assertively, and the two exchanged words before Litton returned to his position behind the stumps. The exchange was caught on camera, and the clip quickly went viral on social media.

India Looks Worried After Poor Start From Star Performers
At lunch on the opening day, India had reached 88 for 3, with Yashasvi Jaiswal batting on 37 and Pant unbeaten on 33. Bangladesh’s pacer Hasan Mahmud was the standout performer in the morning session, dismissing Indian skipper Rohit Sharma, Shubman Gill, and Virat Kohli after the visitors opted to bowl first on a lively Chepauk pitch.
