Rohit Sharma set two world records by becoming the first to hit 200 T20I sixes and the player with the most sixes against a single opponent before being dismissed by Mitchell Starc after scoring 92 runs off 41 balls.

India captain Rohit Sharma unleashed an assault with the bat on Australia in the first 10 overs after Mitchell Marsh elected to bowl first in the ongoing T20 World Cup Super Eight match at Daren Sammy National Cricket Stadium, St Lucia.

Rohit scored 28 of the 29 runs in the third over off Mitchell Starc, continuing his rampage after a brief rain break, reaching a 19-ball half-century. He eventually fell to Starc’s unplayable yorker in the 12th over after scoring 92 runs off 41 balls, including 7 fours and 8 sixes.

Notably, Rohit set two world records during his innings, becoming the first batter to hit 200 sixes in T20I cricket and achieving the most sixes against a single opponent in international cricket.

Earlier, Josh Hazlewood dismissed Virat Kohli, and Marcus Stoinis removed Rishabh Pant. Australia made one change, bringing in Mitchell Starc for Ashton Agar. Rohit also received a standing ovation from the crowd for his extraordinary innings as he walked off the field.
