Mumbai Indians star Rohit Sharma humorously pleaded with a cameraman to turn off the audio during a conversation with Dhawal Kulkarni, recalling how a previous viral audio clip had caused him trouble.
Ahead of Mumbai Indians’ final IPL 2024 match against the Lucknow Super Giants, Rohit Sharma was seen chatting with former teammate Dhawal Kulkarni. During their conversation, captured on video by the official broadcaster, Rohit made a light-hearted but sincere request to the cameraman. Noticing the recording, Rohit folded his hands. He humorously asked the cameraman to turn off the audio, referring to a previous viral video that had caused him trouble regarding his IPL future.
“Bhai, audio band karo haan. Kasam se, ek audio ne mera waat laga diya (Please, switch off the audio. The last audio landed me in a lot of trouble),” Rohit said in the clip, which quickly gained attention for its candid and funny nature.
Earlier, a video clip of Rohit Sharma chatting with Kolkata Knight Riders coach Abhishek Nayar had went viral on social media. The clip, shared without any context, sparked wild theories suggesting Rohit might be leaving Mumbai Indians (MI) to join KKR.
Rohit was heard saying, “Ek ek cheez change ho raha hai… Woh unke upar hai… Jo bhi hai woh mera ghar hai bhai, woh temple jo hai na maine banwaya hai (Everything is changing one by one… It’s on them… Whatever, but it’s my home brother, it’s the temple that I constructed).”
The video was reportedly deleted by KKR after it garnered attention for the wrong reasons, further intensifying the rumors.

Mumbai Indians replaced Rohit Sharma with Hardik Pandya as captain for IPL 2024 after trading him from Gujarat Titans in November 2023. Despite Rohit leading MI to five IPL titles, the team struggled this season, finishing last with only four wins in 14 matches. This marks the second time in three years that MI has ended at the bottom. Rohit, however, was MI’s top scorer, amassing 417 runs from 14 innings at a strike rate of 150.
