The duo arrived in Australia on Wednesday as part of the initial group, with the rest of the Indian team landing on Thursday. Both players quickly got into rhythm, spending around 30 minutes in the nets.

Rohit consulted with head coach Gautam Gambhir after his batting practice, while Kohli interacted with bowling coach Morne Morkel. India will continue training on Friday and Saturday, October 18, ahead of the ODI opener on October 19.

Both retired from Tests earlier this year and ended their T20I careers after India’s World Cup win in Barbados in 2024.

The upcoming Australia series, starting October 19, could be their final tour to Australia. Their selection for the 2027 World Cup will depend on form and fitness in the coming years.
