Rohit Sharma’s rant with his teammates was captured on stump mic during the second Test against England, as he expressed his discomfort from excessive shouting.

Rohit Sharma’s leadership proved instrumental as India secured a crucial 106-run victory against England in the second Test, leveling the five-match series at 1-1. Despite facing scrutiny for his defensive approach in the series opener, Rohit exhibited remarkable activity on the field in Vizag.

Earlier, a widely circulated video had captured Rohit rebuking his teammates, urging them to maintain focus and refrain from distractions, asking them not to ‘walk around in the garden.’

His vocal exertion took a toll on his throat, nearly causing him to lose his voice while fielding on Day 4 of the Visakhapatnam Test. In another instance caught on the stump mic, Rohit candidly expressed his discomfort, lamenting, “Mere gale ka watt lag gaya hai chilla chilla ke tum logo ko,” translating to “I am losing my voice having to shout at you guys so much.”

India’s victory in the second Test leveled the series at 1-1, despite England’s persistent Bazball approach causing some pressure. Jasprit Bumrah and Ravichandran Ashwin played crucial roles, with Bumrah taking six wickets in England’s first innings.

Rohit praised the collective effort of the bowling attack, particularly highlighting Bumrah’s contribution. He emphasized the team’s overall performance, acknowledging the challenges of winning in such conditions. The skipper also commended England’s exciting brand of cricket in recent years, acknowledging the competitiveness of the series.

The third Test match at the Saurashtra Cricket Ground in Rajkot is scheduled for February 15, with an 11-day gap. The squad for the last three Tests of the series is yet to be announced, leaving uncertainty about Virat Kohli’s return. KL Rahul might return from injury, but Jadeja and Shami’s fitness remains doubtful.
