RR’s Rovman Powell shared an update regarding Jos Buttler’s return to the camp after suffering an injury.
Rajasthan Royals (RR) secured a narrow three-wicket victory over Punjab Kings (PBKS) in a low-scoring encounter on April 13th at Mullanpur without opener Jos Buttler as he suffered an injury.
RR’s batter, Rovman Powell, recently provided an update on Jos Buttler’s injury. “I think they are doing some very good work with him; I think he would be out for another day or two, but it’s good that we have a game in three-four days, so he will likely be back by then,” he revealed.
This means Buttler would likely be available for RR’s next campaign against the Kolkata Knight Riders on April 16th. Undoubtedly, the player has been a great asset to the team, as he has accumulated 143 runs in the 5 matches he played in the IPL 2024, maintaining a healthy strike rate of 131.19.
Speaking of April 13th’s match, it was a tense affair, played on a challenging pitch that favoured bowlers. Chasing a modest target of 148 runs, Rajasthan’s batting order was shaky throughout the match; however, a crucial partnership between Powell and Shimron Hetmyer revived their chase.
Speaking of the team’s win during the post-match interview, Powell said, “Definitely, it’s important for us to get two points. The good thing is that we both are calm; we talked about how we should run fast; we are West Indians; and we are boundary-hitters. It’s a challenge, but we are professional cricketers.”
Securing their recent win, the Rajasthan Royals maintain their first-place spot in the points table with a net run rate of +0.767.
