Samit Dravid, son of Rahul Dravid, has earned his first India U-19 call-up for the upcoming home series against Australia U-19. Samit has been selected for both the white-ball and red-ball squads. The series, set to take place in Puducherry and Chennai, includes three one-day matches and two four-day games scheduled for September and October.
A pace-bowling all-rounder, currently representing Mysore Warriors in the KSCA Maharaja T20 Trophy, Samit has struggled with the bat, scoring just 82 runs in seven innings with a top score of 33. Notably, he has yet to bowl in the ongoing tournament.
However, Samit enjoyed a strong performance earlier this year in the Cooch Behar Trophy, contributing significantly to Karnataka’s first-ever title win. He scored 362 runs across eight matches, with a standout 98 against Jammu and Kashmir. His impact extended to his bowling, where he took 16 wickets, including two crucial wickets in the final against Mumbai.
