Sanju Samson has been signed by Kochi Blue Tigers for ₹26.80 lakh ahead of the second edition of the Kerala Cricket League. The wicketkeeper-batter last featured for Rajasthan Royals in the IPL on May 20 against Chennai Super Kings.
With a base price of ₹3 lakh, Samson became the most expensive player in the auction, taking up 53.60% of Kochi’s total budget of ₹50 lakh. The upcoming T20 league is set to run from August 21 to September 6.

Notably, Sanju Samson has featured in 304 T20 matches, scoring 7,629 runs with six centuries and 48 half-centuries. In international T20s, he has played 42 games and scored 861 runs, including three centuries and two fifties.
Samson is also the only player to register three T20I centuries in a single calendar year, achieving the feat in 2024. In the IPL, Samson has represented Rajasthan Royals and Delhi Capitals across 177 games, scoring 4,704 runs.
Additionally, Vishnu Vinod emerged as the second-most expensive player in the Kerala Cricket League 2025 auction, picked by Aries Kollam for ₹13.8 lakh. Jalaj Saxena was bought by Alleppey Ripples for ₹12.4 lakh.
