Shreyas Iyer took an excellent diving catch to dismiss Alex Carey for 24, but injured himself in the process, forcing medical attention and a drinks break.
In the 34th over of the ongoing third ODI between Australia and India, Alex Carey fell for 24 off 37 balls, ending a 59-run partnership. Harshit Rana’s change of pace outside off stump deceived Carey, who got a thick top edge while attempting a straight drive.
Shreyas Iyer sprinted from backward point to the deep third region and completed an excellent diving catch, sending Carey back to the pavilion. However, Iyer injured himself during the effort as the ball hit his ribs and lay on the ground in visible pain. The team physio rushed in to assess him and he left the field injured.
After this wicket, Australia’s score stood at 183-4.
