Shreyas Iyer won the ICC Men’s Player of the Month award for March 2025 after a stellar Champions Trophy campaign.

India’s middle-order batter Shreyas Iyer has been named the ICC Men’s Player of the Month for March 2025, edging past New Zealand’s Jacob Duffy and Rachin Ravindra to claim the prestigious honour.

Iyer played a vital role in India’s victorious Champions Trophy campaign, emerging as the top run-scorer with 243 runs in the tournament. His composed batting and consistent performances in the middle-order helped anchor India’s innings in crucial matches. This award continues India’s winning run in the ICC monthly honours, with Shubman Gill having won the accolade in February.

Iyer’s ability to guide India through the middle overs with calm stroke-play and steady partnerships was a key factor in their title-winning campaign. His performances in March, especially in high-pressure knockout games, stood out among the contenders. The 30-year-old scored 172 runs across three matches in March at an average of 57.33 and a strike rate of 77.47. His tournament included several impactful knocks that came at crucial moments for India.

Iyer’s 79 off 98 balls, which featured 4 fours and 2 sixes, helped India post 250 in a Group A match against New Zealand on a difficult surface. He followed it with a valuable 45 off 62 in the semi-final against Australia, guiding India through a tricky chase. He wrapped up his tournament with a composed 48 off 62 in the final, once again against New Zealand, to help seal the title for India. Iyer’s contributions not only lifted the trophy for India but also earned him individual recognition on the global stage, underlining his value as a dependable middle-order performer.

Georgia Voll Awarded Women’s Player Of The Month

In another development, Australia’s rising star Georgia Voll was named the ICC Women’s Player of the Month for March 2025, just three months after making her international debut. The 21-year-old outperformed teammate Annabel Sutherland and USA’s Chetnaa Prasad to clinch the honour. Voll played a key role in Australia’s dominant 3-0 T20I series win over New Zealand, scoring 161 runs across three matches — second only to her opening partner Beth Mooney. Her impressive knocks included a 50 off 31 balls in the first match, a 36 off 20 in the second, and a career-best 75 off 57 in the final game.

Voll’s award continues Australia’s recent success in the ICC monthly honours, with the nation’s players winning the title for the fourth consecutive month.
