Shubman Gill’s promising innings came to a heartbreaking end as he fell short of his crease, getting run out in the 90s after a miscommunication with Kuldeep Yadav.

On the fourth day of the ongoing third test match between India and England in Rajkot, a crucial run-out incident marred India’s batting performance. Shubman Gill, nearing a century with 91 runs to his name, faced a heartbreaking dismissal due to miscommunication with Kuldeep Yadav. After Kuldeep drove a ball bu Tom Hartley straight to Ben Stokes at mid-on, Gill initiated a run but was quickly sent back by Kuldeep.

Stokes’ precise throw to bowler Hartley saw Gill diving desperately, but the replay confirmed his dismissal, leaving him disheartened just nine runs shy of the century mark.

Gill’s dismissal in the 90s marked the second instance of such an occurrence for him. On the third day of the match, Gill and Yashasvi Jaiswal’s partnership of 155 runs boosted India’s position after Rohit Sharma’s early dismissal. Jaiswal reached his third Test century, while Gill made a gritty fifty, scoring 65 runs. Jaiswal retired hurt after his century.

On the fourth day, Gill teamed up with Kuldeep Yadav for another fruitful partnership, adding more pressure on England. Together, they pushed India’s score beyond 250 and their lead close to 400 runs, dominating the match.
