South Africa defeated USA by 18 runs after posting a strong total of 194 on the back of Quinton de Kock’s 74 and restricting the American chase despite a valiant 80 by Andries Gous.
Opting to bowl first after winning the toss, the USA were unable to contain a rampant Quinton de Kock. The South African opener smashed a quickfire 74 off just 40 balls, laying the base for a strong total. Captain Aiden Markram contributed with a valuable 46 runs. Late cameos from Heinrich Klaasen and Tristan Stubbs pushed the Proteas to a commanding 194 runs on the board at the loss of four wickets.
For the USA bowlers, Saurabh Netravalkar and Harmeet Singh managed two wickets each. However, Ali Khan had a forgettable outing, conceding the most runs (45) in his four overs.
Chasing a daunting 195-run target, the USA batting line-up faltered against a disciplined South African bowling attack. Aaron Jones, a key player for the USA, was dismissed for a duck, putting them on the back foot for the middle overs. However, opener Andries Gous stood tall for the American side, playing a lone hand with a gritty 80-run knock. Unfortunately, his valiant effort lacked support from the other batters, who were unable to contribute significantly.

Kagiso Rabada emerged as the highest wicket-taker for South Africa, picking up three crucial wickets. Keshav Maharaj, Anrich Nortje, and Tabraiz Shamsi chipped in with a wicket each, restricting the USA batters at regular intervals. Requiring 26 runs off the final over, the pressure mounted on the American batters. Nortje, however, with the ball in hand, conceded only enough runs to secure an 18-run victory for South Africa.
