Legendary Indian cricketer Sunil Gavaskar revealed his IPL 2024 dream team, featuring standout performers from the tournament. Gavaskar’s selection includes five overseas players, with three from the West Indies.
Leading the lineup is Virat Kohli, the season’s top run-scorer, who won the Orange Cap with a remarkable tally of 741 runs in 15 matches. Kohli partners with Sunil Narine, known for his dual skills with the bat and ball. Narine contributed significantly by scoring 488 runs and claiming 17 wickets, earning him the Most Valuable Player award for his exceptional all-round performance during the IPL season.
The team boasts a strong middle order comprising Sai Sudharsan and Rajasthan Royals skipper Sanju Samson. The lineup is further strengthened by the explosive West Indian duo of Nicholas Pooran and Andre Russell, alongside wicketkeeper-batsman Heinrich Klaasen.

Gavaskar’s squad also features the versatile Abhishek Sharma and power-hitter Shivam Dube, recognized for their dual batting and bowling capabilities. Noteworthy contributions from Sharma and Klaasen were instrumental in Sunrisers Hyderabad’s run to the IPL 2024 finals.
The team showcases a robust spin department with Kuldeep Yadav and the dependable Ravindra Jadeja. Spearheading the pace lineup is Jasprit Bumrah, who secured 20 wickets in 13 matches. Supporting him are T Natarajan (19 wickets in 14 matches) and Australian captain Pat Cummins. The talented Arshdeep Singh completes the bowling lineup.
