His aggressive batting saw him reach the milestone during the powerplay, smashing 4 sixes and 6 boundaries in the process, marking his first fifty of the IPL 2024 season.
Narine’s innings of 85 runs off 39 balls, including 7 sixes and as many boundaries but he fell short of a century. His fifty was among Kolkata Knight Riders’ fastest in IPL history, ranking joint 10th, with Pat Cummins holding the record for the fastest fifty for KKR against Mumbai Indians in 2022.
Narine’s onslaught left the Delhi bowlers, including Khaleel Ahmed, Ishant Sharma, and Rasikh Dhar, struggling to contain the flow of runs, with captain Rishabh Pant visibly flustered in the middle.
