India was bowled out for 119 runs, but Pakistan fell short by 6 runs, courtesy of an excellent performance from the Indian bowling lineup.
Put to bat first, a dismal batting display from India saw them bundled out for 119 runs against Pakistan. Their star-studded batting line-up failed to fire, with openers Rohit Sharma (13) and Virat Kohli (4) dismissed early. The misery continued with Suryakumar Yadav, Shivam Dube, and Hardik Pandya all falling for single-digit scores. Ravindra Jadeja’s woes with the bat was also on display as he was dismissed for a golden duck.
Rishabh Pant was the lone bright spark for India, battling his way to a lone-warrior knock of 42 runs. Pakistan’s bowlers were exceptional, with Naseem Shah and Haris Rauf claiming three wickets each. Mohammad Amir chipped in with two wickets, while Shaheen Shah Afridi picked up one, leaving India reeling with a chasable score.

Pakistan openers started their chase with confidence. However, their captain Babar Azam fell early for 13 runs in the fifth over, courtesy of a breakthrough by Jasprit Bumrah. Mohammad Rizwan (31) played a vital role in anchoring the chase, providing much-needed stability.
Unfortunately, the Pakistan middle order faltered against India’s bowling attack. Jasprit Bumrah continued his impressive spell, finishing with figures of 3/14. Axar Patel (1/11) and Hardik Pandya (2/24) also contributed with crucial wickets, halting Pakistan’s momentum.
Notably, the 19th over proved pivotal as Bumrah dismissed Iftikhar Ahmed, leaving Pakistan needing 18 runs from the final over. Arshdeep Singh was entrusted with the responsibility of defending the target. He rose to the occasion, dismissing Imad Wasim and conceding only 11 runs, securing a thrilling victory for India by a narrow margin of 6 runs.
