UAE Announce Strong Squad For Asia Cup
The United Arab Emirates (UAE) announced their 17-member squad for the Asia Cup 2025, with Muhammad Waseem named as captain.
In a major development, the Emirates Cricket Board (ECB) confirmed a formidable squad for the upcoming Asia Cup. As expected, talismanic all-rounder Muhammad Waseem has been appointed to lead the team in the showpiece tournament.
On Thursday, the UAE revealed a strong 17-man squad for the competition. Alongside Waseem, experienced players like Alishan Sharafu, Junaid Siddique, Muhammad Jawadullah and Asif Khan are expected to play key roles.

Rahul Chopra, who has impressed in the ongoing Tri-Nation series, is also tipped to be a vital player for the Gulf side. Meanwhile, attention will be on Saghir Khan, who has shown red-hot form in the same series on home soil.
Saghir has bagged five wickets, including a clinical three-wicket haul, at a superb strike rate of 9.60 in the tournament. His consistency with the ball could make him one of UAE’s main weapons in the Asia Cup.

Muhammad Waseem (captain), Alishan Sharafu, Aryansh Sharma (wicketkeeper), Asif Khan, Dhruv Parashar, Ethan D’ Souza, Haider Ali, Harshit Kaushik, Junaid Siddique, Matiullah Khan, Muhammad Farooq, Muhammad Jawadullah, Muhammad Zohaib, Rahul Chopra (wicketkeeper), Rohid Khan, Simranjeet Singh, Saghir Khan.
The UAE are placed in Group A alongside India, Oman and Pakistan. They will begin their campaign against India at the Dubai International Stadium, followed by a clash with Oman in Abu Dhabi. Their final group-stage fixture will be a high-voltage encounter against Pakistan in Dubai on September 17.
