Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma are likely to be included in the India A squad for three unofficial ODIs against Australia A. The matches will take place at Green Park Stadium in Kanpur on September 30, October 3, and October 5.
Both players retired from Test cricket in May 2025 and have not played competitively since IPL 2025. Kohli is expected to travel to India this month for fitness assessments in Bengaluru. Their last appearances were in the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 final against New Zealand and semifinals against Australia and Pakistan. Kohli and Rohit delivered match-winning performances and received Player of the Match awards.
According to reports from Hindustan Times, if selected for India A, they will gain valuable practice ahead of India’s three-match ODI series in Australia.

Meanwhile, the Indian men’s cricket team will tour Australia next month for a three-match ODI and five-match T20I series. The ODIs will be held in Perth, Adelaide, and Sydney on October 19, 23, and 25. The T20Is will take place in Canberra, Melbourne, Hobart, Gold Coast, and Brisbane between October 29 and November 8.
