Virat Kohli skips Bengaluru camp
Virat Kohli gave his fitness test in London while other India stars were tested at BCCI’s Bengaluru centre.
At the BCCI’s Centre of Excellence in Bengaluru, several India cricketers underwent fitness tests ahead of the resumption of their international season. According to reports, Virat Kohli was the only player not present in the city as he gave his fitness test in England, where he is currently residing.
As per Dainik Jagran, senior players including ODI captain Rohit Sharma, Test captain Shubman Gill, and pacer Jasprit Bumrah underwent their tests on August 29.
However, Kohli, who is now living in London with his family, was allowed to skip travelling to Bengaluru. Citing a BCCI source, the daily reported that the former India captain, who now only plays ODIs after retiring from Tests and T20Is, must’ve taken prior permission to prove his fitness in London itself.

The Indian team was last seen in action during the five-match Test tour of England, which concluded in the first week of August. Since then, the players have been on a month-long break after playing non-stop cricket for nearly a year.
India’s T20I squad will return to action this month at the Asia Cup in the UAE, where the tournament will be played in the T20 format. The competition begins on September 9, with India starting their campaign a day later against UAE in Dubai.
Kohli is expected to make his competitive return during India’s white-ball tour of Australia, where he could feature in the three-match ODI series alongside Rohit.
