In a viral video shared by Jio Cinema and RCB on social media, RCB star Virat Kohli was asked to pick four players for his ultimate street cricket team, including a keeper, a batter, and a bowler.
With a cheeky grin, Kohli picked AB de Villiers as the keeper-batter, Jasprit Bumrah as the bowler, and added powerhouses Andre Russell and Rashid Khan to the mix.
“So, along with me, the keeper-batter would be AB de Villiers. There’ll be Jasprit Bumrah. There will be Andre Russell, and Rashid Khan. That makes it five,” he replied. The video quickly blew up, with fans loving Kohli’s dream team selections for a street cricket showdown.
In the tournament, RCB next faces Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in a crucial match at Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bengaluru on May 18th. This game is the final chance for both teams to secure a spot in the playoffs.
For RCB to advance, they must beat CSK by 18 runs if they bat first or chase the target within 18.1 overs if they bowl first. If CSK wins or if the match is abandoned due to rain, RCB’s playoff hopes will be crushed, and they will be eliminated from IPL 2024. This high-stakes game determines RCB’s fate in the tournament.
RCB is on a hot streak with five consecutive wins and Virat Kohli is in magnificent form. Kohli, currently the orange cap holder in IPL 2024, will give the team a significant advantage.
After the IPL, Kohli will play for India in the T20 World Cup, starting in June in the USA and West Indies. India is placed in Group A of the tournament, alongside arch-rivals Pakistan, Ireland, Canada, and co-hosts USA.
