“I’m Bullish That Virat Kohli Will Score Runs”: Aakash Chopra Defends India’s Star Batter Amidst Dismal Performance

Former cricketer Aakash Chopra expressed confidence in Virat Kohli’s ability to regain form despite his recent low scores in the T20 World Cup.

Virat Kohli has been in dismal form this T20 World Cup and has not been able to make up for his reputation yet. In the three matches he has played, he went out for a duck, and in the other two matches, he was gone with a single-digit score.

Naturally, Kohli has drawn criticism from experts and fans regarding his disappointing performance coming to bat at No. 1. However, Aakash Chopra, a former Indian cricketer and now a commentator, came in to show his belief in Virat Kohli, assuring that he would come back in form to score in no time.

In a video shared on his YouTube channel, Chopra reflected on Kohli and Rohit Sharma’s early dismissals. “In the run chase, Virat Kohli got out in the first over itself. It’s been three matches, and Virat has been dismissed off deliveries outside off-stump all three times—once in the deep off Mark Adair’s bowling, once at point off Naseem Shah’s bowling, and Saurabh Netravalkar here,” said Chopra.

Chopra showed faith in Kohli’s resilience and said that he is just out of runs and is not out of form. “You think everything is right. I was saying before the last match as well, and I am saying after this match too, that I am not worried. I am bullish that Virat Kohli will score runs, as he is not out of form; he is just out of runs right now,” Chopra stated.

Aakash remained positive about Virat Kohli’s performance and hoped that he would perform well in Florida. “He went there with the form of more than 700 runs. His bat hasn’t struck the ball that well here; runs haven’t come from the bat, but the story has ended here. Now they will be going to Lauderhill, which means when the match happens in Florida, we will be alright there. I feel Virat Kohli will score runs there,” Chopra said.

Virat Kohli, along with Rohit Sharma and Co., will be heading towards Central Broward Regional Park in Florida to play their concluding group stage match against Canada on June 15th.
