A young Virat Kohli fan’s invasion briefly interrupted the RR vs RCB IPL match as the kid went to hug his idol but was driven away by security shortly after.
The match between Rajasthan Royals and Royal Challengers Bengaluru on April 6th was interrupted as a 14-year-old fan, identified as Munir Ali from Araria district, Bihar, bypassed security and rushed onto the field to hug Virat Kohli.
The incident, captured on video and now viral on social media, shows a surprised Kohli initially hesitant but allowing the emotional fan a quick embrace. Security personnel swiftly intervened and escorted the boy off the field. Watch the video below:
Reports suggest Munir travelled to Jaipur specifically for the match, allegedly purchasing a black-marketed ticket for Rs 1,900 from an individual named Shubham. Authorities took Munir into custody for questioning, as he reportedly did not have a valid ticket on him and provided Shubham’s contact information.

Though the match was interrupted by the little Kohli fan, the RCB fans did not get to celebrate as the Rajasthan Royals clinched a comfortable six-wicket victory over the former. Despite the impressive, unbeatable 113 runs from Kohli, RCB’s bowling attack could not contain the Rajasthan batters.
Yashasvi went for a duck, but a phenomenal partnership between Jos Buttler (100 runs) and Sanju Samson (69 runs) shifted the momentum completely. Their 148-run stand, the highest partnership of IPL 2024 so far, put RR in a commanding position. Buttler’s century overshadowed Kohli’s knock, securing the win for RR.
This loss extended RCB’s struggles, with four defeats in five matches. They will be looking to turn things around when they face the Mumbai Indians on April 11th.
