Church Street Park in Morrisville witnessed a cricketing spectacle during the 15th match of the Major League Cricket (MLC) 2023 tournament as MI New York clashed with Seattle Orcas.
The match kept spectators on the edge of their seats, with both sides amassing scores above 190. Seattle emerged victorious by just 2 wickets in a nerve-wracking finish. The star of the match was South African sensation, Heinrich Klaasen, whose unbeaten 110-run knock propelled Seattle to chase down the daunting target of 195 with a mere four balls to spare, leaving the crowd in awe.
MI New York’s captain, Kieron Pollard, and Nicholas Pooran also showcased a breathtaking batting display in the match. Their explosive partnership of 67 runs for the fourth wicket added a competitive edge to their team’s performance.
However, it was Pollard’s heroics that left fans gasping in disbelief. During Cameron Gannon’s over, the former West Indies captain delivered a jaw-dropping blow, launching a massive 110-meter six – the longest of the season. The ball soared over mid-wicket, leaving the opposition stunned and the crowd cheering for more.
