During Punjab Kings’ IPL match against Gujarat Titans, Shashank Singh’s blistering 61 off 29 balls went unnoticed by his own team as the dugout remained eerily silent.
In the recent IPL match between Punjab Kings and Gujarat Titans, Shashank Singh showcased his brilliance by smashing a rapid 61 off just 29 balls. Despite joining the crease with Punjab Kings struggling at 70/4, he swiftly crossed the 50-run mark in just 25 balls.
However, what caught attention wasn’t his remarkable innings but the peculiar reaction from the Punjab Kings’ dugout. As Shashank completed his half-century, the camera captured complete silence among the players, including captain Shikhar Dhawan and pacer Arshdeep Singh, seemingly indifferent to his achievement. This unusual scene quickly went viral, drawing criticism from fans and commentators like Akash Chopra for the team’s lack of acknowledgment.

Meanwhile, some fans speculated players’ serious demeanor was due to concern about the match outcome. Some referred to a controversial event at the IPL 2024 auction in Dubai where Punjab Kings signed Shashank Singh for Rs 20 lakh.
During the auction, PBKS owners Ness Wadia and Preity Zinta initially thought they had signed the wrong Shashank Singh, as there was another young player by the same name on the list. However, auctioneer Mallika Sagar confirmed the deal had gone through.
