During the 19th over of Zalmi’s chase when Arif Yaqoob smashed Rumman Raees for a six, the Kiwi batter, positioned at deep backward square, attempted a catch but the ball crossed the boundary.
However, it was the ball boy who stole the limelight with a sensational diving catch. Munro’s excited celebratory hug with the ball boy captured hearts and quickly became viral on social media platforms.
Interestingly, before the catch, the same region saw another six being hit when the ball boy missed the opportunity. Munro stepped in to provide verbal coaching on catching technique. The ball boy’s improvement was evident as he executed a stunning low-diving catch during Yaqoob’s subsequent six.
On the match front, Islamabad United’s win was anchored by captain Shadab Khan’s performance, contributing 80 runs off 51 balls to their total score of 196-4. Despite Aamer Jamal’s half-century for Peshawar Zalmi, Islamabad’s resilient game secured the win.
