David Warner, the star opener for Sydney Thunder, made a Hollywood-style grand entrance at the Sydney Cricket Ground, arriving via helicopter for the Big Bash League (BBL).
David Warner made a flashy entrance at the SCG for the BBL 2023 match between the Thunders and the Sixers. The Aussie left-hander, fresh from a successful exit from ODIs and Tests, arrived in a helicopter directly from his brother’s wedding, providing a delightful spectacle for fans.
Warner, who expressed determination despite potential weather challenges, had a couple of helicopters on standby. “I’ve got a couple of helicopters on standby, weather permitting,” he had said after his final Test against Pakistan. “It’s a tight squeeze with the wedding, but I’m determined to make it happen!”

Warner’s comeback to the BBL features his participation in the last three regular-season matches for the Sydney Thunder. Following this stint, Warner is set to join the Dubai Capitals in the ILT20 league in the United Arab Emirates.
After these overseas commitments, fans can anticipate his return to Australian soil for the Twenty20 series against West Indies from February 9 to 13. This series marks his final international games in Australia before his farewell appearance at the T20 World Cup in the Caribbean in June.
