Ravisrinivasan Sai Kishore’s IPL journey has been a rollercoaster ride. After being acquired by Chennai Super Kings for INR 20 lakhs in the 2020 auction, he was part of the victorious squad in the 2021 IPL without making an appearance.
In the 2022 mega auction, Gujarat Titans secured him for INR 3 crore. Sai Kishore debuted in the IPL, performing admirably with six wickets in five matches, helping the Titans clinch the title. Although retained for the 2023 season, he remained on the sidelines without an opportunity to play.
Sai Kishore boasts remarkable T20 statistics with 57 wickets from 49 matches, at an astonishing average of 16.91 and a miserly economy rate of 5.48.
Earlier in the match, Captain Ruturaj Gaikwad’s decision to bat first paid off as Yashasvi Jaiswal’s explosive innings lit up the Powerplay and continued despite the tricky conditions at the Pingfeng Campus Cricket Field. Jaiswal’s fearless century, scoring 100 off 49 balls with 8 fours and 7 sixes, propelled India to a formidable 202/4.
In the end, India secured a 23-run victory over Nepal, securing their place in the tournament.
