In the ongoing second Test match between India and South Africa, an exceptional display of bowling brilliance unfolded during the 24th over. Jasprit Bumrah delivered a near-perfect straight ball that behaved unusually by sticking on the pitch surface before reaching batsman Marco Jansen. Unaware of the altered ball’s pace, Jansen committed to a forceful drive, only to see the ball soar back towards Bumrah.
With remarkable reflexes, Bumrah swiftly grabbed the ball, securing his fourth wicket in the match. Jansen departed the field visibly stunned by the unexpected turn of events, while Bumrah continued his outstanding performance since the beginning of Day 2.

In the match, Bumrah’s exceptional performance led to a stunning five-wicket haul, marking his ninth fifer in Test cricket. This five-wicket haul has also marked his third against South Africa, setting a personal record against any cricketing nation.
Earlier, heading into the second innings, the Proteas trailed by 98 runs. Bumrah’s important dismissals included Tristan Stubbs, David Bedingham, Kyle Verreynee, Marco Jansen, and Keshav Maharaj, leaving only Aiden Markram as the recognized batter standing.
Notably, Bumrah’s feat also equals Javgal Srinath’s record for the most five-wicket hauls against South Africa.
