Suryakumar Yadav’s dismissal for a duck came as Matheesha Pathirana’s delivery was guided to third man, where Mustafizur Rahman made a remarkable catch near the boundary.
In the ongoing MI vs CSK IPL 2024 match at Wankhede, Suryakumar Yadav had to depart for a duck. Yadav’s dismissal occurred in the 8th over as Matheesha Pathirana delivered a short ball outside off, prompting Yadav to guide it intentionally towards third man.
Mustafizur Rahman, stationed in the deep, faced a challenging task but executed an exceptional catch under pressure. The third umpire reviewed the catch, confirming Rahman’s incredible effort as he managed to maintain his balance on one leg, flicking the ball back into the ground before stepping over the boundary. Rahman ensured the catch was completed within the field of play, sending SKY packing.
Pathirana had striked once earlier in the same over, dismissing Ishan Kishan. Ishan’s well-timed flick found the lone fielder within the ring, Shardul Thakur at mid-wicket, who held onto a sharp catch.
Earlier, Chennai Super Kings posted a formidable total of 206/4 against the Mumbai Indians. Ruturaj Gaikwad and Shivam Dube set the stage with well-crafted half-centuries. However, it was MS Dhoni’s late onslaught that stole the show.

He hit three consecutive sixes off Hardik Pandya’s bowling, finishing with an astonishing 20 runs off just four balls at a staggering strike rate of 500. Dube’s unbeaten 66 off 38 deliveries further strengthened CSK’s commanding total.
