Dipendra Singh Airee etched his name in the history of cricket by being the third batter in the world to hit six sixes in an over.
Nepal’s Dipendra Singh Airee carved his name into cricket history books with a phenomenal display of power-hitting during the ACC Premier Cup 2024.
Facing Qatar in a Group A clash at the Al Amerat Cricket Ground in Oman, Airee became just the third batter ever to hit six sixes in a single over in T20I cricket. Notably, Yuvraj Singh of India and the West Indies’ iconic Kieron Pollard are the only other players to achieve this feat.

The 20th over of Nepal’s innings witnessed the historic moment. Airee, already on 28 runs from 15 balls with the team at 174-7, went on a six-hit spree against Qatar’s medium pacer, Kamran Khan. He launched each ball over the boundary, propelling his score to 64 runs from just 21 deliveries. His knock, which included three boundaries and seven sixes, took the team’s total to a commanding 210 for 7. Watch the video shared by the Asian Cricket Council on their X handle below:
Interestingly, this is not Airee’s first time rewriting the record books. Earlier in 2023, he shattered the long-standing record for the fastest T20 fifty, previously held by Yuvraj Singh. This latest accomplishment undeniably solidified his reputation as one of the most explosive batters in T20 cricket today.

Speaking of the match, Aasif Sheikh’s crucial knock of 52 runs earlier in the innings provided a solid foundation. However, it was Airee’s late-inning onslaught that truly anchored Nepal to a comfortable position. In response, Qatar could only put up 178 runs, and Nepal won by 32 runs.
