Bas de Leede’s dazzling performance featured a wink to Haris Rauf after hitting him for a six, while he also contributed with four wickets and 67 runs for the Netherlands.

During the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 clash against Pakistan on October 6, Netherlands’ versatile all-rounder Bas de Leede showcased his expertise with both bat and ball. After a remarkable bowling performance of 4/62, De Leede emerged as the top scorer for his team, amassing 67 runs (68 balls) with six boundaries and two sixes.

In a standout moment of the match, the right-handed batsman executed a splendid shot by dispatching Haris Rauf’s delivery for a six during the 29th over. To add a touch of humor, the Dutch cricketer couldn’t resist winking mischievously at the Pakistan fast bowler just after the ball cleared the fence.

In their opening match of the ODI World Cup 2023, Pakistan secured a convincing 81-run win against the Netherlands at Hyderabad’s Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium. Despite facing an early top-order setback, Pakistan posted a total of 286/10 in 49 overs.

Saud Shakeel and Mohammad Rizwan were the heroes of Pakistan’s innings, both contributing 68 runs each. Mohammad Nawaz and Shadab Khan also played vital roles, adding valuable 30-plus runs towards the end of the innings.

The Netherlands launched their reply with an encouraging performance from openers Vikramjit Singh and Bas de Leede. Vikramjit contributed 52 runs (67 balls) before falling to Shadab Khan, while Bas de Leede added 67 runs (68 balls) before being dismissed by Mohammad Nawaz. However, the Dutch innings concluded at 205 runs in 41 overs as Pakistan bundled them out.
