In preparation for the T20 World Cup 2024, the PCB has made a significant leadership change by reinstating star batter Babar Azam as captain. Babar had previously resigned from all formats after Pakistan’s disappointment in the ODI World Cup 2023. Subsequently, Shan Masood took over Test captaincy, and Shaheen Afridi was appointed T20I skipper.
