Despite India’s strong performance in earlier matches, they faltered in the final, losing by 6 wickets. Shami, instrumental with 23 wickets in 7 games, played a pivotal role in India’s journey to the final. PM Modi consoled the team, praising Shami’s efforts.

Earlier, on the social media platform X, Shami had also expressed gratitude to all Indians for their unwavering support, acknowledging Modi for boosting team morale with a special visit to the dressing room. He assured a resilient comeback, thanking fans and the PM after the disappointing loss.
Despite India’s unbeaten streak and the favor of being title favorites, they could only set a modest 241-run target in the final. Unfortunately, the match wasn’t in their favor as Australia, despite a rocky start at 47-3, rode on an exceptional century by left-handed opener Head to secure victory comfortably with seven overs to spare.
