Rajasthan Royals cricketer Riyan Parag was seen in a heartwarming video celebrating his orange cap and win against MI with his mother.
Rajasthan Royals (RR) batter Riyan Parag shared a heartwarming moment with his mother following his team’s impressive six-wicket victory over the Mumbai Indians (MI) at the Wankhede Stadium on April 1st. This win marked RR’s third consecutive victory in the ongoing IPL 2024 season, while MI suffered their third consecutive defeat.
Following the match, the Rajasthan Royals shared a heartwarming video on social media. The clip captured Parag’s emotional reunion with his mother. They shared a warm hug, and she then placed the prestigious orange cap on his head. The video is captioned “No one loves you like your mom does,” perfectly encapsulating the touching moment. Watch the video below:
In the match, MI suffered a batting collapse after RR put them to bat first. Pace bowler Trent Boult dismantled their top order, dismissing Rohit Sharma, Naman Dhir, and Dewald Brevis for ducks. Hardik Pandya (34 runs) and Tilak Varma (32 runs) attempted a recovery, but Yuzvendra Chahal and Nandre Burger restricted them to a below-par total of 125 runs.
Notably, the 22-year-old played a pivotal role in RR’s win, scoring an unbeaten 54 off just 39 deliveries. His knock included five boundaries and three sixes, propelling him to the top of the IPL 2024 Orange Cap leaderboard.
Chasing a modest target, however, RR faced an early setback when Kwena Maphaka dismissed Yashasvi Jaiswal for just 10 runs. Aakash Madhwal then picked up crucial wickets from Sanju Samson, Jos Buttler, and Ravichandran Ashwin. However, Parag’s brilliant knock ensured a comfortable victory for the Rajasthan Royals with 27 balls to spare.
Seated at the top of the IPL points table, the Rajasthan Royals will be next facing the Royal Challengers Bengaluru on April 6th.
