After his child’s birth, Virat Kohli returned to India and was seen at Mumbai airport; he’s likely to join the Royal Challengers Bangalore training camp for the upcoming IPL season soon.
After becoming a father for the second time with the birth of his son Akaay in London, Virat Kohli has returned to India. For personal reasons, Kohli was absent from the recent five-match Test series against England. He was spotted at Mumbai airport, marking his first appearance since his son’s birth.
The former skipper is set to rejoin the Royal Challengers Bangalore training camp soon for the upcoming Indian Premier League season, starting with a match against Chennai Super Kings on March 22. Kohli, alongside his wife Anushka Sharma and daughter Vamika, spent the past few weeks in London, where he announced the arrival of his newborn son on February 20.

Initially named in India’s squad for the first two Tests against England, Kohli opted out just before the series began. Kohli’s last appearance for India was in January during the T20I series against Afghanistan. He’s anticipated to join RCB’s promotional event ‘Unbox’ on March 19 in Bengaluru.
The upcoming IPL season holds much importance for the batter as it could impact his inclusion in the T20 World Cup squad, which follows shortly after the league. Reports from The Telegraph had earlier suggested that Kohli’s spot in the T20 World Cup squad is not yet confirmed.
