On a recent show hosted by Gaurav Kapoor, Virat Kohli wittily commented that he disappointed his fans by mending the spat with his cricketing rivals.

Virat Kohli recently addressed his on-field spats with Naveen-ul-Haq and Gautam Gambhir, assuring fans sarcastically that their differences have been resolved.

The controversy began during last year’s IPL encounter between Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) and Lucknow Super Giants (LSG). During the match, Kohli and LSG’s Naveen engaged in a heated exchange. Reports suggested Kohli’s suggestion to target the tail-enders with bouncers irritated Naveen. The situation escalated, and the argument continued even after RCB secured an 18-run victory.

Things got even more tense during the customary post-match handshake. Kohli and Naveen clashed again, prompting then-LSG mentor Gambhir to intervene. Gambhir and Kohli also exchanged words before LSG skipper KL Rahul intervened. The incident resulted in hefty fines for all three players for violating the IPL’s code of conduct.

In a clip going viral on social media, Kohli commented wittily that the fans are not liking the fact that they have moved on and mended the spat as the aggression has been lost. Watch the video below:

Kohli acknowledged the public’s interest in the past feud but also highlighted that it was childish. “Log bohot disappointed hog aye hain mere behaviour se. Naveen ke saath maine jhappi daal li, us din Gauti bhai ne aake mereko jhappi daal di. Matlab, tumhara masala khatam ho gaya to boohoo kar rahe ho. Abey bache thodi na hain yaar. (People are very disappointed with my behaviour. I hugged Naveen, and then the other day Gauti bhai [Gautam Gambhir] hugged me. Now that they don’t have anything juicy, they’ve started boohooing. We are not kids!” commented the former Indian skipper.

As mentioned by Kohli, the rift between the players has been sorted out. During the World Cup last year, Kohli and Naveen were seen embracing on the field, signalling an end to their feud. More recently, during the ongoing IPL season, Kohli shared a hug with Gambhir during an RCB match against the Kolkata Knight Riders.
