Yashasvi Jaiswal’s Run-Out Dashes india’s Hopes

Yashasvi Jaiswal was caught in a horrible mix-up with Virat Kohli while running down the crease as he was sent out with a horrible runout despite his brilliant inning.
A brilliant partnership between Virat Kohli and Yashasvi Jaiswal was abruptly ended by a shocking run-out, leaving India reeling on the second day of the Boxing Day Test against Australia.
Jaiswal, who was batting fluently on 82, attempted a risky single off Scott Boland. Despite Kohli’s warnings from the non-striker’s end, Jaiswal was already committed to the run. While Cummins’ direct hit missed the stumps, Alex Carey collected the ball and effected a crucial run-out. Watch the clip below:

Kohli’s dismissal soon followed, edging the first ball of Boland’s next over to Carey. The loss of both set batters within a short span left India struggling at 154/4 with nightwatchman Akash Deep and Rishabh Pant at the crease. However, Akash Deep’s stay was also a short affair. The part-time batter was soon dismissed for a duck by Scott Boland as he stayed on the crease for 13 deliveries.
Earlier in the day, Rahul had fallen to a brilliant delivery from Pat Cummins. India, despite showing glimpses of resilience, has struggled to convert promising starts throughout the series. In contrast, Australia has witnessed strong contributions from their top order, including a century from Steve Smith.

At the stumps on Day 2, India is reeling at 164-5 and will be needing a total of 111 runs more to avoid a follow-on from Australia. The heated up contest is already too much for India to take as Australia dominated from the beginning and they will be looking to ship the inning with Pant and Jadeja on crease if they want to qualify for the WTC Finals.
