On a thrilling Friday at Harare Sports Club, Yusuf Pathan, the former Indian all-rounder, led the Joburg Buffaloes to a jaw-dropping six-wicket triumph over the Durban Qalandars in the Zim Afro T10 2023 Qualifier 1.
The seasoned campaigner showcased his trademark hard-hitting prowess, launching an attack on the Qalandars’ bowlers, notably dismantling Pakistani speedster Mohammad Amir.
Yusuf Pathan’s eight-over onslaught against Amir proved to be the turning point of the match. He started with back-to-back sixes over cover and long-on, followed by more aggressive hitting. Amir struggled to contain Pathan, conceding 24 runs in the over, ending with a costly two-over spell of 42 runs without a wicket (6-6-0-6-2-4).
Yusuf Pathan smashed 6, 6, 0, 6, 2, 4 in a single over against Amir.

His unbeaten innings of 80 runs off just 26 deliveries featured an awe-inspiring array of nine massive sixes and four boundaries. It was a power-packed performance that saw the Buffaloes chase down the challenging target of 140 runs with remarkable ease, completing the task in a mere 9.5 overs.
Durban Qalandars posted a total of 140 runs, courtesy of impressive batting displays by Fletcher (39 off 14 balls), Asif Ali (32 off 12 balls), and Linde (24 off 9 balls). But it was Pathan’s power-hitting that stole the spotlight, guiding the Buffaloes to victory and securing their spot in the tournament’s final.
