Yograj Singh’s strong remarks for Yuvraj Singh

Former India pacer Yograj Singh, father of legendary all-rounder Yuvraj Singh, launched a scathing attack on Virat Kohli and MS Dhoni, accusing them of betraying his son during their time as captains.
Yuvraj, who played 402 international matches between 2000 and 2017, scored 11,178 runs at an average of 35.05, including 17 centuries and 71 fifties, and also picked up 148 wickets across formats. Despite his achievements, Yograj believes that Dhoni and Kohli feared Yuvraj would threaten their places in the team and therefore worked against him.
“As I told you, there are no friends in the sphere of success, money and glory. There were always backstabbers, people who wanted to put you down. People were scared of Yuvraj Singh because they were afraid where he would usurp their seats because he was such a great player created by the God Almighty. He has been the greatest of players, who they were scared – right from MS Dhoni, everybody – ‘oh he might take my chair,” Yograj said in an interview with InsideSport.

The 67-year-old also claimed that Virat Kohli was never Yuvraj’s friend and named Sachin Tendulkar as the only true well-wisher his son had in the Indian team. Yograj praised Tendulkar for his kindness and caring nature.
Yuvraj was a part of India’s victorious campaigns in the 2002 Champions Trophy (joint-winners with Sri Lanka), the 2007 T20 World Cup, and the 2011 ODI World Cup, where he was the Player of the Tournament. His most successful years in international cricket came under Dhoni’s captaincy, though he made a final comeback after Kohli took over as India’s all-format captain in early 2017.
Yuvraj played his last international game against the West Indies on June 30, 2017, in Antigua, before announcing his retirement from all forms of cricket on June 10, 2019, at the age of 37.
