Chennai Super Kings won their 5th IPL title by beating Gujarat Titans in the final of IPL 2023. One of the heroes of the final for CSK was Ambati Rayudu. He scored 19 of just 8 balls including 1 four and 2 sixes to take CSK to the winning line. To finish off the rest, Ravindra Jadeja scored 10 off the last 2 balls and took CSK over the line.
During the presentation ceremony, MS Dhoni called on Ambati Rayudu and Ravindra Jadeja to collect the trophy. Ambati Rayudu opens up on the great gesture from MS Dhoni to allow him and Jadeja to collect the trophy.
In an interview with NDTV, Ambati Rayudu said, “Before the ceremony, he (Dhoni) called me and Jaddu, saying he wants us to join him in lifting the trophy. He thinks it was the right moment to do it with both of us. It was really special on his part, I don’t think that has ever happened. That’s the person he is, and the person that the world knows. Overall, it is his gesture.”
Chennai Super Kings won their 5th IPL title and joined Mumbai Indians in the tally of the most IPL trophies.
