Jonty Rhodes, the renowned South African cricketer and current LSG coach, showered praise on a ball boy for his spectacular catch during an IPL 2024 match at Ekana Cricket Stadium. The incident occurred when Lucknow Super Giants’ Marcus Stoinis attempted an uppercut off Vaibhav Arora’s delivery, sending the ball sailing towards the boundary. However, the ball boy exhibited impressive skill by catching the ball cleanly just behind the ropes.
Rhodes, witnessing the catch on the field, was visibly impressed and applauded the ball boy’s technique. He even gestured towards the boy, likely indicating his desire for an autograph, showcasing his appreciation for the remarkable fielding effort.

On the match front, KKR dominated against LSG, securing a convincing 98-run victory and claiming the top spot on the points table with eight wins in 11 games. Opting to bat first, KKR posted a formidable total of 235/6 in 20 overs. Sunil Narine’s explosive innings of 81 runs off 39 balls, supported by contributions from Angkrish Raghuvanshi (32), Phil Salt (32), and captain Shreyas Iyer (23), propelled their score. Ramandeep Singh’s quickfire 25 off just six deliveries added the finishing touches.
