England, the reigning champions of the 2022 edition, announced their squad for the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024 on April 30, featuring the return of Jofra Archer after a prolonged injury break.
Jos Buttler will lead the 15-member squad announced by ICC and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) for the upcoming T20 World Cup, featuring the much-awaited return of pace bowler Jofra Archer after a lengthy injury hiatus.
Additionally, Chris Jordan has been recalled to the side. Jamie Overton, initially eyed for selection as an all-rounder, faced exclusion due to an untimely back injury, prompting the selectors to turn to Jordan, renowned for his experience with five World Cup appearances and 88 T20Is under his belt. This same squad will also feature against Pakistan in a four-match T20I series starting May 22.
Jos Buttler takes the helm for the defending champions, supported by a strong batting lineup featuring Will Jacks, Phil Salt, and Jonny Bairstow at the top. The addition of Ben Duckett and veteran all-rounder Moeen Ali adds left-handed diversity to the squad. Harry Brook, Liam Livingstone, and Sam Curran feature in the lower order, while Adil Rashid leads the spin attack with Tom Hartley by his side.
England’s journey kicks off with their flight to the Caribbean on May 31, gearing up for their opener against Scotland in Barbados on June 4.
